The fan
|
Aug 24 09:31 UTC 1994 |
(it's a terribly hot night, and you can't sleep. Your roommate has
a fan, and you don't. S/he isn't home at the moment, but will likely
be back later that night.)
(do you borrow the fan?)

Depends on what I can give her in reply for borrowing things..... I've
been known to do this before. I once borrowed my friends cd player when
he was out of the room, and in return I supplied him with new batteries.

It depends on how much I would have to intrude into her stuff to
get at it. She would benefit by having the place cooled off somewhat
by the time she gets in, after all, and I would leave her a note
to explain. (Come to think of it, this depends on which roommate --
if I were rooming with my sister again, it would depend on what
mood I thought she was likely to bring home)

Since I can sleep in just about any conditions, as long asI've gotten to
sleep first, I might take it and leave a note saying what I'd done with it
and that it was perfectly ok to take it back.

Can't you put the fan on rotate and share it? I always thought part of
having a roommate was learning to live with other people and share things.
Then again, I've never had I roommate, so maybe I should say anything :)
