Blank Cheque
|
Feb 25 22:16 UTC 1995 |
(you find a cheque that is blank except that it is already signed. You
notice that the name on the cheque is of a person you know is very wealthy.
Do you tear up the cheque or do you keep it,and if so,how much do you write
in?)

I'd do what Omni suggests in #1.

I'd find a way to return the check to its owner because I'm that way, but
I'm aware of people who wouldn't. Thankfully, many of the latter type of
people I know tend to get either arrested or questioned for behavior
of questionable legality, whereas I don't.

I'd tear it up, especially the signature. If I actually knew the person, I
would let them know I had done so.

I would write "void" very prominently on the front and the back of the
check, put the check in an envelope with my return address written very
prominently on both front and the back, and hope the rich person is in
a very generous mood. I wouldn't really *expect* that he send me any
reward, or be upset in any way if he didn't, but I would sure hope that
he did. 8*)
