I have to say I was dissappointed. Think of what they could have done, with
Captain Kirk and the Next Generation crew together. I wanted to see Kirk
sit in the big chair on the Enterprise D and give orders. I wanted to see
him give a speech about how great mankind is. Think of what they could have
done with that moment, when Picard meets Kirk! People have been writing
dialog between them for years - why not use some of it? Why not play out
their differences? And what I like least of all, I think, is the way Kirk
died. Of course I knew it was coming, but, I mean, some *red shirts* died
more dramatically than that! This was a HUGE transition here - at least
give the hero a last moment of glory, in his element - and I *don't* mean
a fist fight! And besides all that, I don't see why they had to go and do
that to the ship. It was traumatic in Star Trek III, and again in VI; why
put us through it again? I know, I know, it's a transition. All in all,
watching the movie was a sad experience for me.

I WAS disappointed in the way that they killed kirk off without flags and
whistles, But, They DID kill off one of the biggest American Icons to this day
and I think that no matter how they killed him off, It was still a big impact
on the viewers. n that I enjoyed the movie.
