Quantum Leap Mark Unseen   Sep 16 03:26 UTC 1992

The new season of Quantum Leap starts next Tuesday (Septmber 22nd)
as Sam leaps into Lee Harvey Oswald. Future episodes will include
Richard Nixon, Dr. Ruth Westheimer, an animated episode, and an
"evil leaper", one who travels through time to do mean and nasty
things. (This info from Sally Smith on Usenet. She's pretty
reliable.)

So what does everyone think of this series?

Since you asked..

I can't stand it.. (but then I don't watch much TV and almost never
like science fiction movies or television programs..)

That's nice, Shut up.

I've heard about the evil leaper! Should make for an interesting story line.

I missed taping last Wednesday's USA showing - the cliffhanger from
Tuesday showed Sam leaping into a disco dancer. Is anyone else out
there taping these, and if so can I get a chance to watch this one?

I like QL quite a bit. The attention to detail is reasonable and the story
lines are mostly believable if you can swallow the notion of time travel.
The JFK episode had a wierd ending, but I liked it nonetheless. This oculd
be a very interesting season.

I read a rumor in the local television listings that some unknown
organization was thinking of picking up new episodes. They also
said the Scott Bakula may be a semi regular on _Murphy Brown_ this
season.

That last is a definite - Scott will play a foreign correspondent who
will show up on the FYI set every once in a while. According to the
article I read, he won't be Murphy's love interest. *sigh*

I'm new 'round here and just read this item from the begining. Did I miss
Nixon and animation in the last season of QL? I enjoyed much of QL but
I don't think that it's a bad thing that the series ended when it did.
I think they were running out of fresh ideas.

What was the point of that last episode about the bartender Al and the
mine?

You didn't miss Nixon and the animation, those were dropped. (Actually,
the animation was put off until next season, but...)

As for the last episode, I'm still wondering about that.

Quantum Leap is now bing re-run on the Sci-Fi channel. It is on at 10:00pm
weeknights. It looks like they are showing the whole series from the
beginning. Enjoy!

I have recently herd rumors of a Quantum Leap movie in production. They
hologram, and that a possible series of movies is being considered.
Am I the only one who has heard this?

I loved QL whc?s5en it was on, but my sister loved it more. Anyways...we don't
get the Scifi channel, but I think it is on USA. I haven't heard of a movie
being made, but that would be cool!

You know what I loved the most about Quantum Leap? The really short guy who
was always wearing crazy hats. He was a *trip*!!

        I miss Gushy.

Caught a few QLs while on first-run. Went thru the whole series
when it was on Sci-Fi channel 8pm. I liked Sam's leap back to his own
youth, when he found he couldn't really change his families history.

When Sam had the ability to change Al's life, by telling
his wife at the time to wait for him to return as he was a POW.
Once he realized he could control his leap from the
Bar at the end of the Universal Studios production" he did made
that change, but to us, lost contact with his present. He also
learned that they are other "good leapers" out there, ie , the one
that teamed with Sam to change the history of the mine disaster.

Shame, Bleasurus productions would not allow it, or wasn't
approached on it, but it would have been interesting to have seen
the Scot Bakula character on Murphy Brown, get that "leaping"
effect at their wedding, leaving the door open for a new actor
to take the role.
