A rain of meteors can be seen in China on Nov 18

Meteors can be seen on nNov 18 in most parts of China. It's said there will
be a big burst of meteors near the constallation which is called Lion in
China. (Sorry ,I don't know how to call it in English) Such a burst would
look like a rain of meteors. To anyone interested in astronomy, keep your eyes
on it.

It's the constellation Leo, which is why the shower is called the
Leonid shower.

It is also expected to be especially spectacular this year, because
of earth's location in passing through the orbit. A lot is being done
to reorient satellites to offer the lowest or least senstive cross-section
to the meteor paths. There were only a few satellites in orbit the last
time the shower was significant - but now, there are hundreds.

I was told that many of the satellites will be turned with their lowest
profile towards the shower.

Er...sorta of what I said. What has been stated specifically in the
newspapers is that it is the solar panels that will be turned edge-on
to the shower. It seems to me that it is just as important to orient
the whole vehicle optimally - but there must be limits to both in
terms of maintaining power, and use of fuel.
