LPFM. We have a license for our area.
Any else ever started an LPFM?

We have an LPFM license for Bastrop County Texas for 99.7 FM.
One small problem.
The sponsoring organization is defunct and hasn't met for a year and they are
listed as the license holder.
They are the http://bcen.org
Only a handful of members remain and they are opposed to the idea of a radio
station.
So it's a bit of a dilema, which is too bad, because an LPFM license is a
precious thing to toss to the winds.

Don't want to sell it. Want to use it.
It's hard to get any kind of FM radio license these days.

You should be able to petition for the license, since the group is
defunct, and no broadcast is in place.

Yeah, Steve got a one year extension.
When you say "petition for the license"; how does this process work? Is this
complicated and likely to be denied or is it easy and likely to be accepted?

I'm afraid I don't know much about details on broadcast licensing,
but I'm sure you can find details on the FCC website. (Being able
to understand the details might be a different thing, unless you're
a lawyer.)
