Hello,
Does any one know of a Ham club in Ann Arbor. I am interested in
becoming a Ham but am not sure where to start.
Vikram.

see www.cyberspace.org/~arrow/
The next meeting will be 1/12/00
The group welcomes aspriring hams. In the meantime you might go to
Purchase Radio (on Hoover St) and buy a copy of the ARRL book "Now You're
Talking".

That's all on the web site too, but briefly, they are held at Clonlara
School on Jewett, just off South Industrial, on the 2nd Wednesday of
each month, at 7:30 p.m.

Is Purchase Radio still on Hoover? I drove by a few months ago, and
there was a UM building there, so maybe I should have said still in
Ann Arbor.

Yes, still on Hoover. You looked in the wrong spot. Purchase is just
west of the railroad tracks on the north side of Hoover.

I keep hoping RatShack will come out with an "HTX-6" like their neat little
HTX-10. $150 for 25W on 6, all modes would be great.

Damn, I will be so close yet so far. I am in class in BE274, right upstairs,
from 7:30-9:30. My instructor is also a Ham - WA8UXO - John Rinn. I tried
to convince him that since Wednesday's class is a lab session he could hand
out the assignemnt and we could go down to the meeting. He didn't go for it.
