September flier Party
|
Aug 24 05:05 UTC 1993 |
I'm organizing a flier party for the first Saturday in September.
We'll meet on the front steps of the Michigan Union at 3pm to
distribute fliers to all volunteers along with tape and tacks. We'll
also decide who will cove which beats that day. If you enjoy GREX
and would like to see it prosper, this is something you can do to
help out without investing money.
If you'd like to distribute fliers, but you can't make it that day, mail
me (mta) with your US Mailing address and I'll send you some fliers
to distribute at your own convenience.
I'm also taking suggestions for places we might want to place
fliers to get the attention of a likely group of people. If you
were brought to GREX by a flier, where did you find it? If you
know of a place where people who'd like it here hang out -- where is that?
Thanks.

I'd suggest placing fliers in the U-M Computing Centers on campus, as
well as some of the kiosks around downtown. Angell Hall also has lots
of bulletin boards (the corkboard, analog type ;) that are pretty much
open-access.

Remember student types also exist at EMU and WCC.

Good point, Dana. and We've had an excellant suggestion to cover
the Ann Arbor and Ypsi public libraries, too.

Just a reminder folks -- tomorrow is the big flier party for September.
We'll meet at the Union at 2pm or thereabouts. (inside the foyer if it's
rainy) to distribute fliers. Any who are so inclined will split into
groups to paper anything that doesn't move to fast for about an hour.
Everyone else will go on there merry way, papering wherever they go for
as long as their fliers last.
Remember: Tomorrow, 2pm. the ^Au
Union. BE THERE OR BE SQUARE!!

We should try to hit some book stores in the future.
Put our flyers near the computer section.
Stick one in the books on networking and bbsing.

The party was *very small*. ceor (Corey), me and Susan Gross were the
only ones. Susan pointed out that I had consistantly put the fliers
up too high for wheel-chair users to read them and set about fixing my
over-sight. ;) We didn't get as much done as I would have liked --
so I plan to try again. Anyone up for one of these days soon?

You're on. 2pm? or 3?
Thanks, Bill -- it gets lonely stalking the campus on my own. ;)
