Okay, all you pseudos, tell us about yourselves. (Yes, this item has
been purposely left vague.)

I came into existence sometime back in July of this year, on M-Net. When
Grex opened, I came over here, too. I left mostly short, subtle messages
that escaped most people's notice at first, but a few people began sending
me "thank you" mail when I started giving people gribblies, and this
caused a small handful of people (one in particular) to begin investigating
who the person might be behind Tocohl Susumo.
Then when the demise of M-Net was to come within a matter of hours, I
revealed my true identity on Labor Day of this year. Therefore, I am now
only a semi-pseudo. My account was then left alone for months, only to
be resurrected in order that there might be a fairwitness of the pseudo
conference.

I am an academic from a foreign country, in hiding under a
false identity in the United States. My young son and I
fled our homeland to escape persecution by the totalitarian
regime that oppresses our people. I cannot tell you my
true name, or even the nation that I call home, for fear
that the agents of the oppressors--whom I know are at large
in this country--will find us.
I thank God that the government of the United States has
granted asylum to me and mine, and pray that one day we
can return home in peace, safety, and freedom.

crimson: The name of a colour; a deep red somewhat inclining towards purple.
Marcella: From the Latin, meaning "warlike". A feminine form of Mark.
conundrum: 1. Any puzzling question or problem; an enigmatical statement.
2. A thing that one is puzzled to name, a "what-d'ye-call-it".
"The historian makes a construction of the past in a creative mental effort
based on the available evidence. It is comparable, but not necessarily very
similar, to the creation of a symphony or a scientific theory."
"Londoners live *within* history, not outside it, as though looking through
plate glass at a museum exhibit."
"The old virtues of Londoners, as they saw themselves, comprised humour,
craftsmanship, trustworthiness, a civic consciousness, and a love of sport
and ceremonial."
"Oneparent families are looked upon as the 'lowest of the low' by many and
as the forces of social change by others."

I am told I am an "annoying pseudo". I contest both charges.

Ruth, you are NOT annoying.
As to whether or not you're a pseudo, well, only YOU know that for sure.

Um, I think it's only my hairdresser that knows for sure.
Or something like that.
Can I be a "hair pseudo"?
Or "heir pseudo"?
Oh my.

The question has been raised as to the definition of "pseudo." Clearly it
applies to the secret alter ego of an established user, with a distinct
voice and persona.
But what about users like lmaster and kali on M-Net, and possibly others,
who are not known to the conferencing community under their real names,
and though they write under a pseudonym, they write in their own genuine
persona?

My parents were no help at all.
I'm sorry to admit I didn't really put too much thought into it.
Reach...to strive...to reach one's limits?
