Is pseudo a dirty word? Mark Unseen   Dec 6 19:13 UTC 1991

Is being considered a pseudo an insult? If someone thought you were a
pseudo, would you be insulted, amused, or apathetic? How about if you
*are* a pseudo and someone thinks you are real?

When I first logged on, someone accused me of being a pseudo. I was
amused, and not insulted.

If pseudo is indeed a dirty word, what should one wash one's mouth out
with?

Imaginary soap, of course.

I wash and wash with imaginary soap, but I still feel dirty.
Imaginary soap promotes compulsiveness.
The only thing that can be said for it is that it does not dry out my skin.

Bryan Case used to drive people nuts on ub/um by making up pseudos
(named after extremely obscure literary characters) and having them
argue with each other from totally different points of view. We had
a few people convinced for a +very+ long time that "Laurel Goulding"
was really just a pseudo...then some idiot spilled the beans.

I have 2 popular pseudonyms on Grex & Arbornet, and find the diversion
to be good fun.
