Silence
It's been a long time
since I last held you
in my arms
Your face is only a shadow
surrounded by haze
Your touch has all
but vanished into memories
on a dusty shelf
As a faded picture echoes
of happier times
when reality was not
a dream
Tears start to wet my face
as if my heart is saying
come back to me
Shadows play on the wall
as the candle flickers
When spirits come calling
into the endless night
searching for the lonely heart.

unless I'm mistaken:
Welcome to the poetry confrence woman
I like this piece a lot. It spells out some of the feelings it took me
almost a year to drive away

Thank you. Can we really drive away those feelings that we feel with such
intensity?

I think so...when it gets to that point where we have to push them away
or simply lose it
I don't know, I think I managed to drive them away, but maybe I've just
become desensitized to them. Intensity only lasts as long as our will to
sustain it.
