I like your wings by toking Mark Unseen   Apr 5 15:36 UTC 1999

"I like your wings" joe parish 04/05/99

I feel the cold hard cement
Reassuringly real beneath my back
I take one last pull
From my over smoked cigarette
I look up
As the butt launches from my finger tips
And there she is
My angel strides fearlessly
Angleing through the heat
And the crowd
Non-pulsed in her dirty camos
Her brilliant wings layed behind her back
And she just keeps walking
Slowly eyeing me as she passes
My lips mumbeling an old piece
Like some half forgotten prayer
She passes without a word
With nothing but a sly mutual smile
She keeps walking
I keep standing
Reaching down to light
One last over priced cigarette
I finish my prayer to the long dead
Once again let the cold cement draw me in
But its hold is weakened
By memories of translucent blue
Held stifly by wireframe
Later
Maybe hours
Maybe days
My over taxed mind couldn't recall
I found myself reminiscing
About cold cement and heap fabric
And I was walking again
Eyes wide with half hearted purpose
I would do nothing else
If I did not find her
Simply to say
"I like your wings"

one nit to pick:
> Once again let the cold cement draw me in
> But its hold is weakened
> By memories of translucent blue
> Held stifly by wireframe

what're you referring to in this line where you say "translucent blue,"
etc.?

"...cold cememnet and heap fabric" should be "...cold cement and cheap
fabric"

I'm referring to her wings of course....I realize that this is overly
cryptic...the whole thing is about a girl I saw at hash bash that was
wearing a pair of cheap cloth wings made from some light blue cloth
stretched over a wire frame
