(This isn't a snippet of now; just a channeling of a moment that 
happened.)

Anxiety

At the moment just before skin breaks 
into chills; wedged in the cold, eddying pool 
of reflex anticipation.  Wishing the pensive sneeze 
would just happen already, and the other shoe 
would drop. In a tiny corner of the smallest space
where the molecules to frantically bounce 
against each other: this is where I pray
for the shudder to pass, this is where
I wait.
