i detest this.
absorbing life--
(for all its worth)
processing the pain,
just fall silent into the shadows...
eaten away by the stress of society,
now engulped by the bare bones of the earth..
nothing to show for yourself but a large stone and a few wilting
flowers from days gone by..
solitude and rejection just push--
and push
and push...
UNTIL ITS ALL TO MUCH...
UNTIL YOU GIVE INTO THE PRESSURE EXERTED...
UNTIL YOU LOOSE IT ALL AND LET THEM CRY IN AWE THAT THEY COULD PUSH
YOU THAT FAR.
leaving me red-eyed and alone...
so much pain,
a cut that never stopped bleeding.
five years...
five years to this day since i saw you for the last time.
its all my fault--
the more i attempted to make you feel better,
the deeper the blade sunk into your heart.
let me put away the past...
why do you haunt me so..

I like the word-- has different meanings than 'engulfed'.
Zowie, zoe, how do you manage to write such disturbing stuff? I haven't been
near this angsty in years.

Why..? how old are you, zoe?
I would suppose there is a difference in seeing things as they are and
things as they can be. The latter is often an inspiration for change.

I don't guess people's ages in cyberspace, Zoe-- there is too little
evidence of age here besides stereotypes. I'm frequently surprised at
what I find. I wouldn't know, because my guess could be totally off.

lets just say that i'm far <extremely far> from my death bed and most
people my age lack feeling, a realistic approach, and complete mind...
thats rather obvious...

What's wrong with you people?
Don't you know it's impolite to ask a lady how old she is?

It's not impolite when they bring the topic up... zoe said, "people tell me
its [that is, her ability to write angst] my age." I think it's fair to ask
what her age is, given that statement.
It's impolite to keep pressing the issue when somebody has declind to answer
a question, though, which she's done, so can we all move along now?
