a new pollution <rcl>
|
Aug 11 09:32 UTC 2001 |
breathe in to
smell the air of a city
with no memories of you
to bare down upon my chest,
former residence of a heart
whose beat lived wildly
and unabashedly
to make you feel love
breathe the air here
and be quick to forget the stench
of emotion not quite dead
but too far gone,
beyond repair
and goodbye
breathe in and out
to taste the faintness of
a new pollution--and
it still smells like pain
but whether it's the fragrance of
a flower in bloom
and its letting-go-pollen
or an apathetic smog,
this is a pollution
i know i can survive.

it's quite nice... (high praise from me when i'm sleep dep'd)
i have one question, though... did you spell "bare" that way intentionally?
the phrase is more usually "bear down upon", i believe.
