ecphora.... Mark Unseen   Feb 2 23:30 UTC 1999

fallen children of time and space;
pointless is the breath we waste on petty pleasures..
technological zombies--
swaying to the hypnotizing hum of advancement,
loosing faith and loosing ground.
i can't take this solitude anymore..
bleeding velvet pools of sorrow,
throwing shadows to cover up the pain..
i know the bitter taste of life;
dispite the candy-coating..
if only the world could gain conciousness,
to see reality's hateful ways...
would it evolve into something better?
damned to carry this burden of thinking,
damned to watch this aweful charade of cruelty.
a tear of anger,
a tear of angst..
all our angels have fallen,
all our salvation went up in flames..
take me where i can be safe.
the swirls and turns of the dying day,
bring me up behind the pastey clouds,
where i may lie in euphoric slumber...

Darn! You beat me to it, Miles.

It's true, Zoe. That one sentence contains some pretty powerful
imagery.

again, you prove yourself a master of imagery. Pictures are spun and
woven tightly and clearly. I wonder if you could try a haze next..but
that's more my style, I guess (;

Beautiful, the way the words ring and fall into place, your thoughts
like haunting spectres call me back to this and you other works, where my mind
fills with knowledge of that, which by any other avenue denies of itself it's
existience, that which points to itself
..... ok, I'm hooked, my greatest aspiration in life to this moment is to
meet you, express my adorations to you, and hopefully, you'll let me buy you
a cup of coffee :) .... simply beautiful.

i wish i had your email address poe, i think you'd appreciate the
picture of her i drew last night.. ecphora, i mean...
as for coffee... you'd have to take it up with joe... i don't know if
he'd stand for me mindlessly phlosiphizing and reciting poetry in big
boy with anyone but him...
kidding..... if you're ever around, i'd be honored to partake in such a
ritual... :)

hey lady...somethin gI forgot to tell you...you can email anyone on grex
by taxking @cyberspace.org to their login name (for example, mr poe here
would be logansan@cyberspace.org)

response 11 of 21: Mark Unseen   Feb 8 19:30 UTC 1999

This is grex's very convenient way of linking people up.

Unfortunately, it also means you have another e-mail address of your own
to check.

you can type in either pine or mail or elm... those are three programs which
allow you to view mail.
they have menus which tell you how to view and reply and such.. .:)

the correct response is: you have to telnet in, then run one of the
mail programs here on grex

I'll show you how if you want...or we can make you a .forward file
that'll forward it to your regular address
zoe
response 16 of 21: Mark Unseen   Feb 9 19:46 UTC 1999

nifty nifty...

response 17 of 21: Mark Unseen   Feb 10 05:44 UTC 1999

I'd like to learn how to do that, too, Joe. That way I wouldn't have to
go to grex to retrieve my e-mail all the time.

this isn't really the place for it, but I"m hoping zoe here will forgive
me for massive drift:

it's really very simple, next time you telnet into grex use a text
editor (emacs, pico, joe, vi, etc...) and create a file in your home
directory named .forward (don't forget the period) all you need in this
text file is one line that's your other email address: for
example...the .forward file in my directory just says:

parisj@mindless.com
lumen
response 19 of 21: Mark Unseen   Feb 11 06:27 UTC 1999

That's the manual way to do it-- Grex actually has a forwarding program that
will do that for you. Type 'forward' at the shell prompt, and follow the
instructions.
