The lands of ice between dreams and nightmares (The Crystal Castle Song)
|
Apr 6 23:30 UTC 2000 |
Sung (Chorus): Crystal castles
of ice and snow
Blue and white
and I have far to go
To find a queen and king
frozen deep inside
they have secrets to share
and they'll take mine to hide
Spoken: The icy hues seemed to go on for miles
in a vast brainscape sprinkled with frost
and skies dotted with falling flakes.
So quiet. So sorrowful.
I could not curb the crimson tears
that stained my face
and spotted my trail.
I only hoped that they would later be tucked
into the rising blanket of white.
(Chorus)
My legs grew stiff and my body heavy
But I knew I had to move on.
I stumbled so many times
and lay in the frosty layers for while.
I fell again and again
and crawled to the doorway
and gazed upon the noble couple.
High they were, on a steep ledge,
and I could not seem to reach them.
(Chorus)
I worked for a seeming eternity
and chipped at ice with bare fingers.
The pain. The agony.
And it was another eternity before I was done.
They shook icy shards
and gave chilled coughs
and smiled through piercing blue eyes
that met mine.
They arose
and I smiled back weakly
before I collapsed in their arms
into a sea of blackness.
(Chorus)
Long I dreamt
Of so many places.
I heard songs never sung,
stories never told,
and scenes never beheld.
I saw the shape and the logic of it all.
Then I awoke
To see their bright smiles
and piercing blue eyes again.
And then I understood.
