Draggin'
|
Nov 5 03:19 UTC 1999 |
My heart drags on the ground.
It often does.
Lots of people get disgusted
"Pick that up," they say.
"You shouldn't treat your heart like that."
I don't listen.
I let my heart drag.
My ears hear,
"You are a failure."
"You are bad."
"You are stupid"
"You are too simple"
"You are ugly"
"You are^Ewrong."
People do not say these things,
But my ears hear them.
When I have the courage
The strength to pick my heart up
I drag my life, the keeper of my heart, instead.
Guilt makes me drop and drag my heart again.
My life tells me I shouldn't drag anybody
I know this for the truth
I'm just waiting for somebody to teach me how.
