My Apologies Mark Unseen   Jul 27 16:14 UTC 1999

Tue, Jul 20 02:53:03 PM EDT 1999
I am my apologies:
It is what I have become.

This skin, this sex,
the God of my birth...
A heritage of tears
Clenched within the chokehold
Of an iron fist.

My apologies kneel me down,
Prostrate,
Before the Higher God
Of the lesser ones --
And I offer my guilt
As shallow payment.

My guilt, and the promise
That me and mine will not fail
Again.
It's so hard to stumble
When you're on your knees.

I am my apologies:
It is what I've become.

btw, this is "found art"... the first line was a typo somebody made in a
chatroom for "I'm sorry" and "My apologies." I thought the line was cool.

Wow...good stuff. Great use of a found line, and a point well made. "the
Higher God of the lesser ones" confused me a little, though. But I agree with
Joe here, I'm gonna have to save this one.
