The humanity project. Mark Unseen   Jul 20 21:35 UTC 1999

it was so many years ago
when we decide to come clothed in flesh
and i had no idea how gory it would be
nor could i have imagined the agony

there is death before my eyes
but the carnage along the mindscape
is much more urgent and real
vicious battles on the soulfields
led by a fallen one
scourge me and the ones i love

thunderstorms of blood and screams
fill the sky from time to time
brainbombing raids
guerilla crises ambushes
and occasional collapses
of the neurotransmitter infrastructure

casualties have been heavy in the past.
old scars refuse to heal
and fester with new infections
patched cracks in my foundation
are still threatened by quakes

plans have been drawn
but execution is unsure
and i can't tell if we are retreating
run, says i, run from the hurt
run from the abuse
run from the motherland
but i am not sure of the refuge
help me, o my friends
i cling to my life and press on

"Life is war! Either you die, or you fight until you find peace.
The opposition will never surrender. It will always be there. Seek
Golconda. Accept the darkness, until you finally step into the light."
