Right This Second Mark Unseen   Jan 29 06:45 UTC 1999

I wish everything would stop
Just for a second.

If I had God's remote control,
I'd hit *pause* so fast
It would make everybody--
Quiet
Just for a second.

It's not that I don't want to move forward,
I want that more than anybody.

I just want to be able to taste the now,
Before being hustled to the next dish
And the next after that.

I want to be able to appreciate the dish I taste
Right this second.

So, stop the world for me, God.
I don't want to get off.
I want to enjoy everything
I have no time to enjoy
Right this second.

One line kinda jangles with me...
"If I had God's remote control,
 I'd hit *pause* so fast"
The "so fast" bit doesn't ride quite right. I think it's because
you're sort of talking about slowing things down, or stopping, them, and yet
you want to do it fast?... Maybe it's just me. I really like the idea behind
this one.

That's an interesting idea.

My whole intent was to make a play on the cliche "So fast it would make
everybody's heads spin"

I am just desperate to have some time to appreciate my new marriage and
all the changes that happened after it.

Well, this is the first time I've seen it, and I like it. I think it
flows well, and states an interesting idea fairly clearly.

I forgot it had been already posted the second time I posted it. Still,
it's nice to receive all the new praise on it.
