"Waiting" toking

Here I am
Lying in a too soft bed
300 pages into an Ayn Rand book
all about the virtues of capitalism
killing time and little bits of myself
just waiting for something to ease the silence
something to break the monotony
something....
shit, you know I'm lying right?
I don't care about the silence
I don't care about the monotony
I'm waiting for someone...
no, that's not right either
I'm waiting for you,
to ease the solitude

hmm....I like this. I'm not sure why, but I really like it.
("killing time and little bits of myself" is a great line, too)

I'll agree with Dan that the aforementioned line stands out. Very clever.

It's been awhile since I've posted anything, but I did want to say that I like
this poem because of how it's reletively short, but effectively conjurs up
the emotion of the author. Yeah. Bravo.

Count me in on that little bits of myself thing. That's good stuff.
