*Musings*
(written for Jon the Arborean [lumen] on 23 November, 1998)
Before the birth of time
Our lives were intertwined.
We knew no fear, sadness, anger, or pain.
We were babies playing a game.
We had no inkling of the price we were about to pay.
Father says all will pay.
What did we pay?
We paid our innocence for experience--
Sold pure spirituality to buy life.
Now, time moves us through each impatient day.
Our lives, still intertwined,
Struggle against each stone.
Fear, sadness, anger, and pain
Are all daily food.
No longer really babies,
Our game is called "survival."
I feel the world try to untangle you from me--
The pull on my fingers as they pry at our hands.
How hard it is to hold on.
I wait forever for our mingled strands to be
Sealed into one gleaming cord.
[this poem posted for the pure enjoyment of sharing my emotions]
PS. This poem was written before Jon and I were married. JP

It's good to read this one again. Reminds me of the emotions I felt
when Jon and I were engaged.

hmmmm....I like this, but I was confused when I started reading the
responces...the style reminded me more of Jon than Julie, wierd.

I guess so. Jon and I are getting a lot closer as time passes.
I'm told that's normal.
