I have 3 tripods (extended to full height) pictured here:
http://members.thegeekgroup.org/~eprom/LJ/tripods.jpg
a super tiny 6" desktop tripod with a ball head which works great for
places where carrying a regular tripod is impossible. Since it doesn't
take up alot of space this one stays in my bag most of the time.
A small aluminum Slik tripod. It collapses down to 15" so it fits in my
camera bag nicely. I usually don't raise it higher that hip height (or
about 30"), but it can be raised to a maximum height of 43". The only
thing I dislike about it, is that it has screw-tightening legs, meaning
you must raise and lower the legs in a certain order. It also has a pan
& tilt head which sucks when trying to ensure lines are perfectly
horizontal or vertical. I carry and use this tripod the most.
A heavy duty tripod for my Mamiya 645. It has a ball head, flip-locking
legs and two quick release plates. It's a Chinese made bogen knock-off
so I was suprised to find out well it was machined and how sturdy it is.
This primarily stays in my car as a travel tripod. It came with a canvas
carrying bag. I bought it on eBay for ~$55. What a bargain!

I have a tiny little desktop tripod, where each leg is flexible gooseneck.
Not very useful.
My main "tripod" is a little adapter I made to allow mounting a camera on a
microphone stand. Being an audio guy there's always a mic stand handy, and
the adapter is pocket-sized. I use it a lot when taking pictures of
work-in-progress most often. Because a mic stand is not as rigid as a camera
tripod, I often use the self-timer feature on my camera so I can take
hands-off photos.
