Want to see a unique photo effect? Look at the wooden sound barrier walls along I-94 just West of Metro Airport. The wood was protected by the tree leaves in the summer. The non-shaded area darkened and the shaded area stayed light forming a photo of the summer foliage.

Are you sure you were seeing the effect of light and not dirt?

Pretty sure, but it's hard to tell from 70 mph whizzing past! The "image" is the size of a full crop of leaves and evenly spaced around the center of the "stalk" of the tree.
