We have parties from time to time, and I'll post them in this conf. We had
a contra dance with this group last spring, and I expect we'll do it again
in April or May.

The PFC Board voted tonight to close the Packard store on April 30, 1997, or
as soon after that as is financially reasonable. If, in the opinion of the
general manager, it is necessary to close the store sooner, then the BoD will
hold an emergency meeting to review the new proposed closing plan.
Vote: Yes - 6, No - 0, no abstentions.

On Friday, November 22, board members and PFC staff members including Carol
Collins, the general manager, will be at the Packard store from 5:30 until
7:00 pm to talk with anyone who wasn't able to be at tonight's meeting.

I've been there, but my Scottish nature rankles at the thought of
paying for parking when I go grocery shopping. And I don't have
any free time on Sundays any more.

response 17 of 34: Mark Unseen   Nov 20 00:28 UTC 1996

There is free parking right across the street in the county lot anytime after
5 pm on weekdays, and all day Saturday and Sunday. And both stores are open
until 10pm every night. That's five hours a day of free parking.

A handful of members showed up tonight to discuss the repercussions of closing
the Packard store. Carol Collins, Alan Bailey and I were there, along with
Packard staff members.
We will probably hold a couple more in-store discussions after the holidays,
so that people can ask questions, see the numbers, and let us know their ideas
about the move. I'll post those dates and times as they are set.
