Callico Kitten Named Callie question (kitten sitting) Mark Unseen   Jan 6 21:59 UTC 1999

I have a kitten that i am kitton sitting. For some reason she likes to sit
on my mom's plants. Why? Another question... When i got home today, (1/6/99)
Callie (the kitten) meowed like fifty times. She seemed ok! But she was almost
out of food. Was she just hungry? or is she sick? Please help me!

Obviously she's trying to tell you something. Get out your dictionary of
cat-patois, or try to think like a kitten.

In my experience, sick cats are more likely to be extra quiet than extra
noisy, though they may speak up on less provocation than usual.

This cat is very well cared for and almost 14 years old. It just likes
to talk, I suspect.

some cats just like to talk. And like plants. My sister had about six
plants all in front of the window and her cat would just sit among them.
It was harder to see her.. <grins> I just think she was trying to go
back to her wild 'roots.' The kitten may also just be stressed about
the change in environment. Like I said in a previous item- cats just
don't like things to change. Even simple things like changing when they
get fed can panic some cats. My older sister's cat just doesn't deal
well, she chews one of her paws when she gets stressed. Other cats
just handle it better. <shrugs> My kitten like to talk back (heh,
kitten, she's 1 1/2 now) I ask her 'What have you done?' and she
meows in response. I call her name she comes running (sometimes)
and 'talks.' Just depends on the personality of the cat/kitten.

I guess Callie is a popular name for calico kitties/ My calico kitten's name
is also Callie and some how her orange and white brother got the name George.

My sister's Calico is Liska, but my friend Julie has a calico named
Callie... and one named Pooh (as in Winne the) and one named Cleo.
