kittens...yum! Mark Unseen   Dec 31 23:42 UTC 1998

 "Kittens in red wine-sauce"
 by J.van Merwijk (translated from Dutch)
 (four persons)

  Kittens in red wine-sauce

  * 8 kittens
  * 1/2 pound butter
  * pepper and salt (if needed)
  * 1 liter of Chateau-neuf-du-pape

  Kittens are best eaten late May, early July. When buying always be sure
  the eyes are bright.

  Preparation:

  Cut the kittens into small parts (when cutting kittens always be sure NOT
  to damage the tails!) heat in butter, salt and pepper in spacious pan.
  Add kitten-chunks when butter starts to bubble. Bake substance for about
  five minutes or until the eyes get waxy. Add Chateau-neuf-du-pape and
  simmer the substance for 20 minutes (until the tails come off).

  Serve and enjoy!

I have a neighbor who's uncle use to use kittens as bait. He died at a
young age from a blood infection caused by a cat scratch.

Cute recipe, but doesn't seem complete.

I liked the Kitten Pie bit in Young Einstein quite a bit.

At the student house I lived in at MSU we had up to 7 cats, and joking about
how to cook cats was popular. The most common method involved feeding the
cat bages for several days to clean out the stomach prior to cooking.

Your ratio of butter to wine is all wrong for a good wine sauce.

That *is* a lot of butter even for frying. And what happens to the fur? The
recipe should say whether the kittens are pre-skinned. And perhaps the best
way to skin a cat...

i'd imagine that they're skinned before they hit the
pan...i'm not a real fan of butter fryin' neether,
i prefer my kitten as part of a big platter
with steamed rice and brocolli....general tso's kitten.

Which side of a cat has more dark meat?

The inside.

I beg to differ. The inside of a cat has exactly one cat's worth of dark
meat. Outside the cat, there's the entire rest of the world's food supply.
