A Celtic Campaign!
|
Apr 19 21:06 UTC 1995 |
all right y'all, this campaign will probably move off grex in a few
months, but until then it'll stay here.
Don't start rolling up those Typical AD&D characters until you listen to this:
Typical Celtic campaigns have no non-human characters, however, we already have
a Gnome, so I may allow elves and half-elves. When you roll a character, roll
d20, then mail me before you enter your character in. I will then tell you
your random birth-thingi. If you plan to play a magic-user, let me know right
away.
This is because there are no natural magic-users in a Celtic campaign.
If it sounds boring, believe me it won't be. Here are the available classes:
Fighter
Ranger
Druid
Magic User (restricted)
Bard
Thief (New Rules)
New Class:
Manteis
New Rules:
Manteis:
Requires the Manteis Birthgift, 16 Wisdom
In my campaign, a Manteis may take spells from Priest and Mage Divination
Schools/Spheres, Enchantment/Charm Mage School, Guardian, and All Spheres.
He may take a dagger, staff, or sling. Ask me about other weapons.
thief:
A thief may wield any weapon he wants and where any armor.
There are restrictions on Climb Walls/Move Silently for certain
armor types. There is no Thieves Cant, and thieves can't read scrolls.
Names:
There are to many to "name" (ha ha) but talk to me if you want a celtic
one.
If there is anything else you need to know, let me know... otherwise, roll up
them characters!

Any way to prevent a rakshasa from being killed by a Blessed crossbow bolt?
I've got a party with two crossbow usersa with amazingly good luck on attack
rolls, two clerics, and two players who are DMs, one of whom has toruble
keeping his mouth shut....
A magic-dead area wouldn't help my rakshasa much, either...

Sure. Rakshasa's can do illusion, right? Get tricky, have the Rakshasa
seduce one of the PCs, etc...
Just don't let them know what they are fighting.

Ah, yes, but rakshasa cannot keep the illusion going after they have attacked.
As soon as they attack, they must drop the illusino and show their true form,
so if the characters recongize it for what it is after it has dropped the
illusino, then it's too late for the rakshasa.....

If the Rakshasa can cast 4th-level vel spells, protection form normal missiles
might help...

This is the *old* RPG conference. I think RPG II conference is still active
(slightly), but the main one is amalgam, which has most items from this one
and RPG II are linked to it.
Also, even amalgam is a little out of date. The only reason I get it is that
it's the top one on my .cflist.
