For all those who missed it, the Perseid meteor shower was last night (actually this morning). I got up in the middle of the night, and it was well worth it! There was a shooting star every minute or so, and sometimes a couple in quick succession. Some of them even left faint trails in the sky like those that illustrations of meteors sometimes show. This is an annual event, so mark it on your calendar for next year.

We saw several meteors while camping last week. They seemed to peak around 1am. I saw about five of them. Perhaps they were connected to the Perseids, but earlier?

The Persieds aren't just one night, but rather they have their peak on a certian night.

Right. I sit, corrected. How long is the shower period? A week?
