Hey! The 12 resident frogs in my decorative pond just woke up today.
They're moving sort of slowly, but they are coming around.

There are frogs in the Pond in Eberwhite Woods. They have been chirping
away daily since about when yours woke up. They are really loud.
I think their season is almost over, because the sound has been
much reduced the last few days.

The spring peepers probably have exhausted themselves and the next
batalion of leopard frogs is getting ready.

I heard some pretty loud peepers in the woods on the other side of Chelsea
recently.

It is now a year later and interesting to compare the dates.
The frogs in Eberwhite woods started around Monday the 15th of April
that's four days later than 1995. This is certainly due to our late and cold
Spring. In fact I am surprised that the difference is only about 4 days.
Well, last year Spring was pretty slow also, perhaps.

I have a very small decorative pond in my front yard. It attracts frogs like
mad. This spring, I fished out 12 dead ones - apparantly they can't burrow
and that does them in. This spring I will net them all and return them to
the marsh.
