|
Nov 21 20:51 UTC 1994 |
Does anyone know where I could get hold
of some albums, tapes or anything by the Circle Jerks?
If you do leave a message here or else mail me at

buk - If you want people from Grex to send you mail, then your
address is just "buk". It's a lot easier to type. >8)

I have an album I haven't listened to in years...
I liked "When the Shit Hits the Fan" in Repo Man, but that's so
unlike their actual music, I was disappointed with the album.

I have a circle Jerks album that I've never listened to. It was givenm to me by
a friend who hated it and I've never gotten around to listening to it. Are they
any good?

the only cd really still widly available is a compilation between
there first album "group sex" and a newer one "wild in the streets"
it's on FRONTIER records, and any major record store should be able
to order it for you. I really liked it. IT's really hard core punk
with simple mind lyrics like "i'll, take her home, to meet mom and dad,
and they'll be so glad...they won't think there boys a fag"-from the
song "i just want some skank" If you are looking for hard core punk, go
for the best, which is MINOR THREAT. It is still widely available on the
front man's label (DISCHORD)

I looked at the one I had... It's called
Circle Jerks VI. I listened to it last night and it was pretty
cool. I'll have to get some more of their stuff

Oh my God, the Circle Jerks....I think the last time I listened to them was
1986 after seeing them in concert. (I suddenly feel very old)

Hey Kimberlly,
Why feel old? They're a brilliant band.
Probalbly responsible along with Husker Du
and Black Flag for this "grunge" thing!

I'd hate to be responsible for grunge! (ugh!) The only decent new band right
now is Green Day because they DO have that good old Punk sound of CJs and BF.

Yeah but the punk spirit is carried on by bands like the Breeders,
Throwing Muses and Material.

It's too bad the people in Green Day are such complete and total idiots.
If they weren't, I'd probably buy there album.

first album, s.o.a., teen idles, embrace, oi olloi, the ruts, , and many many
more.
GREEN DAY IS NOT PUNK!!!!! i have seen three of the best 80's punk bands
live, black flag(forgot who opened) and circle jerks with 7 seconds!!!!!!

green day is or at least was punk! Just because A band signs to a major label
does not make them un-punk... it makes them musicians who need to eat! Punk
is a matter of attitude NOT music style. HELL classical music could be punk
in a sense. Minutemen were considered punk and I would hgardly compare them
to any of the punk bands mentioned here. As for circle jerks they were a
great band. The albums that I have seen available are IV, Wild in the
streets, Group sex, and "gig" (a live album with some great songs). As far
as opivy... they did rock.... at least you got that righT! and as far as
bands worth checking out....older bad religion, descendents (greatest pop-core
band EVER), 7 seconds, firehoe, and last but hardly least Doc Hopper or
sinkhole
