Babblefish set lists
|
Mar 16 07:47 UTC 2007 |
Beginning about four months ago, every five to six weeks I've been doing a
radio show on KRBD, Ketchikan's local public radio station. The show, which
my neighbor and some of his friends started, runs for two hours on Thursday
evenings, has a different host every week (there are currently six of us in
the rotation) and is called Babblefish (after the famous fish from Douglas
Adams' "Hitchhiker's" series, although spelled differently..)
The format is fairly eclectic -- pretty much whatever the host is feeling
like, as long as it doesn't run afoul of FCC obscenity regulations or shock
community standards. And surprisingly, people seem to be listening -- or
at least I get callers telling me they enjoy what I'm playing.
I wish I could provide a podcast of the show to interested listeners, or
point you towards a streaming version that you could tune to when I'm
doing a show, but unfortunately neither of those things is currently
feasible.
The best I can do is post set lists, which I'll do if people seem
interested. Hopefully in the future I'll be able to make a streaming
version available, even though in many ways the near future looks pretty
grim for non-commercial internet radio. Until then..
