mikw @wwnet hard rebooted, but it didn't come back up.  i'm on hold again
waiting for someone else to pickup so someone can check again.  probably FS
inconsistencies that just need a fsck -y.

well, looks like it won't be back up until tomorrow.  the engineering folks
have gone home for the night, and the people who are there aren't allowed to
get on the console..  maybe someone with a more intimate relationship  with
wwnet could call and get things settled.
