And many more. Mark Unseen   Jun 16 06:20 UTC 2000

It's the happy birthday M-Net item. I think this is where you old people
are supposed to play 'remember when'. Have at it.

I figure that a date-specific item should be entered regardless of the
fact that M-Net's incapacitated.

some "old people" are not "old people" it gets sooo confusing.

STeve and I were trying to think of what systems on the net are
older than M-net. Chinet is debatably older, but we hear it's not
in reliable production any more. CompuServe is probably older.
Any other candidates?

Lasting 17 years in the Internet age is a tremendous accomplishment.
Congratulations & Happy Birthday, M-net!!

Thank you all. And now, I might mention, that on my 17th birthday, my car is
being taken away because Dad needs a car. (See previous item...) People tell
me that I should rent it to him but instead I'm just gonna give it to him on
a totally empty gas tank :) He's lucky I recharged the A/C today...

Re #11: I came across one in the DC area (if I'm remembering correctly)
that also claimed to be "first."

There are only a very few systems that have been around as long as
M-Net has. Next year, M-Net is old enough to vote!

Mnet died several years ago, sad to say. We'll see
if we can at least animate its corpse a little bit
when it comes back up, though.

awwww, now you've gone and done it. if you are going to call everyone a
fuckwad it dilutes the sense of specialness i felt when you called me one.
i don't think i'm gonna feel as good about myself anymore if i am just one
fuckwad of many. sigh.
