Looking for a file, anybody have it?
|
Apr 29 15:35 UTC 1994 |
I recently downloded a utility from PC magazine and it says I need a file
called "graph.vbx" to run it. This file was not included with the .zip
file, but I guess it should have been. I believe that it's some sort of
module for use with Visual Basic. Does anybody out there have a copy
they can upload it to /tmp, or email it to me, or tell me where it might
be available for download? I looked on ftp.microsoft.com, but I couldn't
find it there. Any help appreciated. Thanks...

You'll find a copy of graph.vbx here at /u/jdg/graph.vbx. It came with
my copy of M'soft's "win32s" 32-bit add-on for Windows 3.1. Let me know
when you've got it downloaded so I can remove it.

Now that that file has been taken care of, I might as well turn this into
an item for any software requests people might have.
Does anybody have a copy of the clock driver for the AST Six Pak Plus
card? I think it was called astclock.com or astclock.sys or something
like that. I was using the hard drive from the computer that needed that
on an other computer that didn't need it for a few years, and I must have
deleted it during that time. I can't find the original floppy.

what does it need to do? just set the clock?
I have a program called timer.com that I have found to successfully
set the clock on a couple of differentmulti-io + clock cards.
never tried it on an ast...

Yep, it just sets the clock (otherwise it has to be set manually every
time the comptuer is booted). Is the program you were talking about
shareware?

We have an old XT with an AST 6-pack at work. I'm almost positive
the files you need are on the hard drive of that computer, and we
probably also have the floppy that it came on. I should have a chance
to upload it sometime on monday, if nobody does it sooner.
I'm not sure if there's a generic program that works on the AST cardm
but it might. (this sure is a blast from the past, eh?)

Thanks. I was hoping there was somebody else here with obselete
equipment. ;) There's no hurry on this, since the computer is in Detroit
and I probably won't be going back there until sometime mid next week.

I have no idea if it is shareware or freeware or what.
I finally got it off of the bad sector, it calls itself "PC TIMER 2.X"
it came with the hd on my XT years ago and worked with the card in that,
and worked on another card I had in there once.
I just looked at it with a sector editor and can't find any text of
copyright dates or anything.

It's conceivable that I have a copy of that somewhere, though a bit
unlikely - I had an XT with a timer set with what is (I think) that
program. Steve, if you don't turn it up elsewhere, give a yell & I'll
dig.

Add me to the list. I was using an AST board and the clock died, but I
may have the driver around.

re #3
scg, you will find astclock.com and setclock.com in /u/wjw.
Astclock is the one you put in the auotexec.bat. It finds the
ast card and takes the info from the card and sets the computer's
time and date. Setclock is the one you run from the dos prompt
to change the time or date on the card.
Let me know when you downoad, do I can delete.
