"The 7th Guest" has me absolutely mesmerized. It is a graphics based
adventure game that is easy to play. This is the sort of game that
I dreamed of back in '83 when I bought a new computer and imagined
what computer simulation/animation could be like.
"Compton's Interactive Encyclopedia" is another big winner. It allows
searches of articles, pictures and facts. There are timelines, atlases,
browsers, idea searches and more. I was impressed by how much time I
spent simply browsing and looking up areas of interest. IMHO, it's a
"must have."
"World Library's Greatest Book Collection" has an excellant collection
of books, poems, religious works, historical documents and more. The
search information is well done (by era, author, type or combinations
of these). Although it only allows the text to be printed in one
font, it's nice having these texts readily available.

re:Compton's - Ziggy's got Grolier's Encyclopedia for the Mac, and IMO, it's
much, much nicer than Compton's. Lots of video (QuickTime) clips,
audio clips, better articles, and a nicer interface. I'd recommend
it (not that I have a CD-ROM drive though <yet>)
(my friend's got 7th Guest - it *stunned* me the first time I saw it!)

The 3/94 Macworld says Compton's *2.0* is much better than Grolier's.
However, a Grolier's update is about to appear...looks like one should
wait this one out.
Questions: how would either of these perform on a Powerbook 145B?
B&W only, and no interface to a color monitor. I'd be interested in
the information, primarily (vidio is primarily glitz, IMO), and still
graphics (drawings and photos). Would anything besides color be lost
on the PB?
