NEEDED: Good VGA reference. Mark Unseen   Jul 24 19:17 UTC 1992

I need a good guide for programmers of VGA cards. Something
with all the register funcitons, SUPER VGA spex and functions
BIOS functions, RMADAC programming - the works. Any reccomendations?

What chipset? You can get a programmers' manual for the ET4000 chipset
from the Tseng Labs folks; most other chipset makers probably also
have similar manuals. If you have access to the X11R5 source distribution,
you might want to look at the X386 server -- this is the X server
that runs under SysV on 386/486 boxes. It does direct chipset-level
programming, and would probably be a good place to start if you're
writing your own video driver.

That was a dirty rotten trick, to resurrect a dormant-for-11-years item with
a nonsensical response.
