Hello people of Grex community!!
I have a question for you people out there.
The questipn is..
How come when my pc starts up..
it reads the config.sys file fine, but
doesn't bother to read the autoexec.bat file?
it just puts me at the command prompt.. not running the autoexec.bat
like the pc is suppose to!!

There are several questions that come to mind.
Is your autoexec in c:\ or is it somewhere else?
It MUST be in C;\ or it won't work.
Do you actually have one?
You need to check this because it could be some piece
of software modified it and maybe munged it.

And what EXACTLY is the contents of your config.sys file? Do not try
to describe it, upload it!

you people are funny.. don't ask why. anyway yes my autoexec file is in my
root directory, plus my this is the config.sys file as follows:
device=c:\dos\himem.sys
device=c:\dos\emm386.exe Ram
dos=umb
buffers=15,0
files=20
fcbs=20
lastdrive=d
devicehigh=c:\dos\drvspace.sys /move
shell=c:\command.com
hope this helps on helping me.

Maybe seeing what is in your autoexec.bat would help. What thing in there
is it supposed to do that it's not?

Remove the "shell=c:\command.com" line from config.sys. That should do
the trick.

That shouldn't cause a problem.
