Six-Letter Word Game (3rd edition)
|
Jul 28 05:47 UTC 1994 |
This is the Six Letter Word Game. I am currently thinking of a
six-letter word, and it is the goal of the respondants to guess my word.
The prize for guessing the word is the power to select the next word.
Rules may be found in /u/rcurl/lettermatch.rules (they were written for
the 5-letter version of the game), and I will be keeping a log of guesses
in /u/aruba/letter.match for as long as I am 'it'. If this item already
has a lot of responses to it, and you would like to join the game, I
recommend that you not try to read the whole item, but go to the end and
read back a few responses (if your pager is _more_, hit 'q' at the "More"
prompt and then enter "-10", or "-20" to see a little further back).

I am thinking of a six (6) letter word. Since it has become traditional
for the first guess to be the word just guessed,

dang: The only "saturn" in my dictionary is capitalized, and capitalized
words are not allowed as guesses. Is there an un-capitalized definition?

tiglon it is. That was quick. I didn't think it would be a hard one,
I just wanted to use it because I thought it was a neat word. (A tiglon
is a cross between a male tiger and a female lion.)

Hey, I think that was me that guessed tiglon, even though I really didn't,
but I was supposed to - wait now I 'm confused. If it was rcurl that
guessed last, can I guess now? Or have I somehow "become" rcurl? Or
has rcurl become me? Who's typing this response?

My dictionary is pretty funny on zariba. It says its zariba in *arabic*,
but zareba or zareeba in *english* (??).
