August Picofest, Sat Aug 28, 6 pm till whenever, 2415 Norvell Rd,
Grass Lake.
Barbecue and volleyball as usual, potluck. I'll supply pop, chips and dip,
ice, and paper products. Please bring games, lawn chairs, musical instruments,
kids, pets, and such. Pony rides are a possibility.
DIRECTIONS: I-94 W to Pierce Rd exit (exit 157)
L on Old US 12
6+ miles to Norvell Rd
L on Norvell, past stop sign, then 1+ miles to 2415.
My house is the second of two identical white houses with pillars, on the
left. Just after the Consumers Power substation. 30 min from Ann Arbor.

Would the pony consent to rides? How can you be sure that the consent wasn't
given under duress?
Even if the pony is generally amnenable, is their a maximum
weight-limit
in effect for potential riders? What if fat people above the weight limit
protest?

don't worry Tim, I have not ridden a horse in some 15 yrs. And I don't
care to ever again.

#6: In these Politically Correct times, I do think we have to re-evaluate our
wanton usage of animals for our silly pleasures. If it were not for the
genetic brainwashing of domesticated horses, I don't think horses would
consent to another creature riding on their backs -- for fun, no less.
I think the Politically Correct term is "Specism", a term akin to
"racism" and "sexism". We should not set lower standards and rights for
other creatures just because they're of another specie.

Don't worry, Tim. We fat people can be quite reasonable on occasion.
We've even been known to attend entire parties in large numbers and
*still* not hurt anyone, human or otherwise. :)
