Thank you for requesting information about Ready, Set, Dinner, a new freeware
meal planning application from The Potato Board. This message has been sent
automatically in reply to your mail to software@potatoes.com, and will reply
to one piece of mail per day from any given address.

This message covers:

I. What is Ready, Set, Dinner?
II. What is The Potato Board?
III. System requirements for running Ready, Set, Dinner
IV. Getting Ready, Set, Dinner by anonymous ftp -- ftp.best.com pub/software
V. Getting Ready, Set, Dinner by snail mail
VI. Our recipes
II. Copyright stuff -- Give this program to everyone :-)

I. WHAT IS READY SET DINNER?

Whether you're a computer wiz or a novice, Ready, Set, Dinner can simplify the
dinner experience with its mouth-watering dinner recipes, weekly meal
planner, and convenient grocery list.

Among the software's features are:

*Recipes: Do you feel like having fish? Poultry? Vegetables? Are you in the
mood for an intimate Dinner For Two, or do you need to get a Kid Pleaser on
the table? Each of our recipes includes nutrition information and is
accompanied by serving suggestions. You can add your own favorite recipes to
personalize the collection.

*Weekly Meal Planner: Ready, Set, Dinner lets you plan a week's worth of
menus. You can even put "Pizza Night" or "Supper at Grandma's" on the plan.
Once you've posted this menu, there's no need to answer the question "What's
for dinner" again.

*Grocery List: Simply select a recipe from the index, click the grocery bag
icon, and presto -- you have a list to bring to the grocery store.

Ready, Set, Dinner is available for both Macintosh and Windows-based
computers, with an interface simple enough for kids and computer novices to
use.

Ready, Set, Dinner was produced by The Potato Board and Ketchum Communications
in conjunction with Red Sky Interactive.

II. THE POTATO BOARD

The Potato Board is a non-profit organization headquartered in Denver,
Colorado, USA. It represents 10,000 potato growers and handlers across the
country.

We are eager to hear your comments about this software and recipe offer, and
have set up a survey we'd like you to fill out (this is not required). To get
a copy of our survey, please send an e-mail (subject: header and body text
do not matter) to survey@potatoes.com.

III. MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS are as follows:

WINDOWS machines: (files are RSD8MB.ZIP or RSD4MB.ZIP)

PC 386
Windows 3.1 or later
4 MB RAM*
4 MB Hard disk storage
13" Monitor
Preferred: Super VGA monitor and sound card

*Two Windows versions are offered. Archived as RSD8MB.ZIP is the full version
of the program, which requires that your machine have a minumum of 8 MB RAM.
In the program archived as RSD4MB.ZIP, the sounds have been excluded to make
the program less RAM-hungry.

The files are stored as ZIP archives, so you will need a program, such as
PKUNZIP, to use them. This should be available at your neighborhood ftp site,
or through a commercial on-line service.

MACINTOSH machines (file is rsd.mac.sit.hqx)

Macintosh LC
System 7.0 or later
4 MB Ram
4 Mb Hard disk storage
13" Monitor (preferred: 256 color, 8-bit)

* You must have virtual memory turned off to run Ready, Set, Dinner

This file is a Stuffit-compressed Binhex archive. To use it, you will need a
program, such as Stuffit Expander, which is available at many anonymous ftp
sites or through commercial on-line services.

IV. Getting Ready, Set, Dinner:

Ready, Set, Dinner is available via anonymous ftp at best.com in the
pub/software directory. If you do download the software, or if you have
any comments to share with us, please send an e-mail to survey@potatoes.com --
a survey will be sent to you to fill out and return via e-mail.

If you've never used anonymous ftp, this might be a good time to learn how (or
you can order it by snail mail -- see below). If you are working from a shell
prompt (like a % or $), try typing the following at the prompt:

     ftp ftp.best.com

You should be prompted for a login. Enter "Anonymous" (no qoutes). For the
password, please enter your email address. Then, you should be in! Type
the following to get into our directory:

     cd pub/software

Then you can type "ls" to list the files contained in that directory. Then,
just type "get file_name," where file_name is replaced by the actual name of
the file you want to retrieve, such as:

        get RSD8MB.ZIP

If you have access to the World Wide Web, you can simplify this process
by using the URL ftp://best.com/pub/software. If you're working from a
shell prompt, try typing:

        lynx ftp://ftp.best.com/pub/software

If ftp doesn't work for you, or if you want the packaged program, this is
available via snail mail for $2.99, to cover shipping and handling.
Sorry, but this is only good for U.S. orders.

To order via snail mail, send a check or money order for $2.99 (payable to
Specialized Marketing Services, Inc.) to:

Ready, Set, Dinner, P.O. Box 1416
La Mirada, CA 90637-1416

Please remember to include your name and address, and indicate whether you
want the Macintosh, Windows 4mb Ram or Windows 8mb Ram version!

For more information (not orders), write:

Ready, Set, Dinner
55 Union Street
San Francisco, CA 94111.

IV. RECIPES:

Ready, Set, Dinner contains a delicious, well-balanced collection of dinner
recipes. If you would like to receive these separate from or in place of the
software, just send and email (subject: header and body text does not matter)
to recipes@potatoes.com. You should receive the 50k recipe file shortly after
sending the message. If you do not, it may be because your mail buffer does
not allow you to receive mail messages this large. Try ftp'ing the file
recipes.txt instead from ftp.best.com in the pub/software directory.

For dedicated Meal Master users, the recipes are available in Meal Master
format via ftp -- look for the file recipes.meal-master.txt. These files
were graciously converted to Meal Master format by Charlene Deering.
Thanks Charlene!

VII. YES, PLEASE SHARE THIS PROGRAM

Ready, Set, Dinner is offered at no cost, and we encourage you to upload it to
your neighborhood ftp site, BBS or commercial on line service, or just give it
to a friend, provided that you do not alter the program in any way, except for
the addition of recipes. Also, feel free to post or share any of our recipes.

If you do upload this software somewhere, we'd love to know about it. Just
drop us a note, or fill out our survey (survey@potatoes.com).

--
Again, thank your for your interest in this offer. If you have any comments
you'd like to share, please let us know by sending an e-mail to
survey@potatoes.com for our short auto-reply survey.
