Foods that surprise you

Today I had something new and thought I'd share - and then I thought
maybe I should start an item for everyone to share something new they
tried and really liked/didn't like/were surprised by.

I don't normally eat potato chips. But today I was starving and the only
thing available was a vending machine with potato chips. I chose Mrs.
Vicky's Vintage Cheese and Red Onion.

Wow! It was delicious - the cheese was cheese and the onion gave it a
bit of a kick.

Of course after a few of the chips, they don't seem as novel any more.

What interesting food item have you had that surprised you.
