The "recipe" command.
|
Oct 10 22:33 UTC 1992 |
Dan Romanchik suggested having an item to talk about the "recipe"
command. Basically, unless your picospan settings are set funny,
you can type "recipe" for information about how the command works.
You can use "recipelist" to see a list of recipe categories, or to
get a list of individual recipes in a category.
The recipes are the ones from the old edition of the cooking
conference. They are stored in the directory /usr/recipes, if you're
interested in finding the actual recipe files.

Type "recipe" for info. (Hint: from the third sentence to the end
is the answer to your question).

You can now type "bread" to see the latest issue of an internet
bread machine digest. (Sorry Laurel!)
If you want the actual file it's stored in, it's in the file
/h1b/bbs/kitchen2/latest.bread.digest.Z, a compressed file.

Will you be adding new recipes as their entered in items here, or
will you wait until we do another restart to add new recipes?

i'll wait for the next re-start, unless someone else wants to volunteer
to keep up with new recipes as they are entered.

Did anyone see Susan Ager's recent column on bread machines? It was
in the Freep either Monday or Wednesday.

Just ran into an interesting "problem." Where did the recipes go?
In the preceeding response I was serious aboutthe recipies and jsut
the other day had the opportunity to download the bunch ... I thought.
I looked in a few directories but ony found a few ascii-tracks where
the recipies HAD BEEN, it seems. I chased around a bit, but couldn't
find them and din't want to run a find -name thingie, nor did
I have the time to do so.
So my question is: Where are the recipe files to be found?

Check out /h1b/recipes
Files are compressed; soon to be uncompressed and zipped to save space.
Type "zcat filename | more" to see the contents of zipped file "filename".

Actually denise, I never download from picospan, because my wonderful Mac
has this neat litte thang called "text capture". I make a Macwrite file
then edit the file, then print the little bugger and put it in the binder.
best thing for you to do is, start your text capture, enter the recipe
command then when the data is done turn off yer capture. Then later,
edit the unwanted things out, and print the hard copy out. The only
things that I really need to use commands for is ones that are in my or
someone else's .cfdir.

You have a "set nosource" in your .cfonce file.
To make the commands work for you, type "source /bbs/kitchen2/rc".
