I just checked 3 cookbooks without finding it (though I did find that
something like "adobado" means "pork" in some other language). Have you
tried Zingermans? This sounds up their alley.

Well, where I found the word "adobado" was in a cookbook that covers
several different South American cuisines, so I'd guess it's Argentinian
or Chilean or some such. But, in any case, it's probably a totally
different word than the word "adobo", which you were looking for....

FWIW, the current month's price list of the Federation of Ohio
River Cooperatives lists "chipotle, smokey hot" (12 11.5-oz jars
for $29.59) and "chipatle, smokey hot" (1 jar for $2.99) under
the brand Saguaro Southwest Salsa in the category Mexican-style
foods.

My brother was forced to make his own chipolte en adobo until he discovered
that Whole Foods carries it. He now buys it at Whole Food and saves his
energy for the rest of whatever dish he is making.

could you possibly get therecipe??? that is basically what we are looking
for, and we didn't see any chipolte en adobo at whole foods, although we did
get the adobo marinade, since that looked close to what we needed for the
recipe.
