I forgot who the douche was that one could pick up on Ruby in two days.
Anyhow, I put this fags theory to the test. It took me approximately 2 and
a half days to pick up on the language. Okay, this is probably on the low end
of the curve because I'm not the ass master web developer/OOP programming
monkey.

I think the only shitty thing about ruby is that there is no ruby mode for
Emacs on the fagged up linux distro I use. I know I should probably switch
to a real OS like Solaris. Anyhow, I had to spend another day writing a barely
functional ruby mode for Emacs.

I said you could pick up Ruby in a couple of days. I'm surprised there isn't
an emacs mode, but I don't use emacs. TextMate under OS X is what all the
cool kids are using these days.

My Emacs has a Ruby mode. If yours doesn't, grab "ruby-mode.el" from an
online Emacs Lisp repository.

So if I switch to TextMate, that'll make me a kid again? Thanks for the
tip; I've been looking for a fountain of youth.

I think the Ruby langauge is pretty decent. However, I really not sold on the
Ruby on Rails shit yet.

Regarding #5; Right. So, this thread is about Ruby, can we move back to that,
please?

Okay, I think Ruby still lags behind CLOS in terms of multiple dispatching.
So in other words, I don't think Ruby, in some cases, is an acceptable form
of Lisp. However, it's really not fair to just single out Ruby. There are
langauges like Java that aren't really capable of multiple dispatching. Also,
I think there is something funky going on with how Ruby handles statements
and expressions, but I can't put my finger on it yet.
