Posting Questions Via Telnet Mark Unseen   Jan 25 07:18 UTC 1999

Hello
This is my first day using Grex, I was wondering, how do you post
questions through the shell account that you use through telnet(this
question was posted through Grex webpage)?
Any contributions will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

You post by telnetting to grex, and logging in. If you don't have a grex
account, type "newuser" at the login prompt, and follow the instructions.

If you choose 'menu' as your shell, you will end up with a menu screen at the
end of all this. type 'b' to get into the bbs (bulletin board system). at
the 'Ok:' prompt type 'join <name of conference you want to join>'. For
example, to get back here you would type 'join intro'

If you don't choose menu, they type 'menu' at the prompt, and you will see
the menu.

Once you are in a conference, you will get to a long prompt that gives you
several choices:
Browse (item list), Read (new items),
Join confname (type "help conf" for a list of conferences),
Help (for more help), pine (for e-mail)
or Quit (to exit from Picospan).

From this prompt type 'enter'. Then type the body of your question. Once
you have typed the text, you will be asked for a headline for the item.
After you have typed the headline, you will have entered the item, and it
will appear as the next sequentially numbered item in that conference.
