He grex folks, it's me, Jeff. I'm sitting in the "Internet Cafe" at the
Ontario Science Center in Toronto. I just went into the www and searched
for grex and it came up! Well, I'll talk to you all again in the next
couple days when I'm back in Ypsi.

Well, that explains why we couldn't find you at Best Buy yesterday.

What do people mostly do at an Internet Cafe? Do groups gather around
one computer and share the experience or is it mostly a solo thing
with good coffee and muchies available? Could someone just come
in a pay for computer use or is there a minimum food purchase required?
Can you put your own disks in the machines and do wordprocessing and
such or are the computers setup to only allow telnet or local dialouts?

For those of you who have not been to the OSC before, it's like the Ann
Arbor Hands On Museum but way more and way bigger.

Anyway, I've still never been to a regular Internet Cafe. The thing at
the OSC had no capability to hear sounds or movie clips. You couldn't
bring in disks and you couldn't pay to use the machines. There was no
food service near the computers and I'm not sure if you could bring food
from elsewhere at the OSC, but I doubt it. The computers were just
another hands-on exibit. People sat and played with the computers while
others watched over the shoulders. As I typed the text of this item, I
overheard someone saying, "he's sending someone a message." There was a
sign posted warning that the Internet contains stuff that may be offensive
and you might not want to go there.
