That's three (3) irc items, now: 6, 55 and 71. There ought to be a
way to concatenate multiple items on the same subject, into one Item.
Is there?

You can copy the responses from one item into a response on the
"summary" item. That's not very elegant, though. I suspect to do
a good job of it would take some conference file editing that is
probably not worth the trouble it would cause.

Would it be as simple as concatenating three files in /bbs/internet into
one? Two #s would disappear.

I can't really say; I've never delved into the conference item file
structure. If you did concatentate the three files, what would you do
about people's references to previous item numbers? It could get
confusing if there's much of that sort of thing.

There's some item heading stuff, & I don't know what having it turn up in
the middle of an item might do but I suspect it wouldn't be too nice. There
may also be some kind of control file saying what's in the conference &
how many responses each item has; I haven't delved into this, but there are
a few indications that this is so, I think.

Zues, please see the irc discussion going on in those other items.
Everyone else, there's no point on doing anything strange to the
conference files. Let's just use another irc item because there's
no substantive discussion going on in this one.
