A colleague sent me a binary file as an attachment. The unextracted
MIME document was included following the message, rather than being
extracted and attached (this happened to be on the CAEN server, but
the problem may originate elsewhere).
I isolated the MIME document and tried to open it with DataViz. It
identified it as a UUencoded document, but said it had the wrong
creator type, R*ch. DataViz will fix the creator type on a document
it has otherwise identified, and converted the creator to DVPR. DataViz
could then extract this into a WORD document.
Here are the first two lines of the MIME encoded file:
> begin 600 Att3Ver6.doc
> MT,\1X*&Q&N$`````````````````````/@`#`/[_"0`&```````````````!
...snip...
Can anyone here tell me what may have caused the file that was attached
by the sender ending up in the message in MIME format, with an incorrect
creator type?
